n the light of an unprecedented upsurge of violence in Ingushetia and Dagestan, and in hopes of better understanding the developments at hand, American Committee for Peace in the Caucasus has made an attempt to keep track of various events that have shaken the two republics since last year. Here you will be able to find dates and brief descriptions of incidents that have been reported by the media and human rights organizations. It should be assumed that many acts of violence have not been reported, and therefore, are neither treated in the media nor are they on our list.
