- Two Parliaments in One Republic (in Russian)
The article discusses the past as well as the upcoming elections in Ingushetia. The results of the former, Duma election, have been originally challenged by the “I did not vote” campaign that mysteriously died out. In the upcoming elections, Ingush residents will not only choose the future Russian president, but their own parliamentary representatives. However, Spokesmen for the opposition say that tribal meetings began several weeks ago during which community leadership elect their own candidates for the parliament. The implication is that Ingushetia may end up with two parliaments after March 2, official and alternative.

According to a correspondent of “Power”, Musa Muradov, and a human rights activist, Magomed Muzoglov, some explanation in rising number of special operations in Ingushetia possibly lies in special bonuses paid to law-enforcement personnel serving in Ingushetia. According to Mr. Muzoglov, a monthly pay of a police officer working in Ingushetia law enforcement structures is 2-3 times higher than the regular pay in any other regions of Russia, including Moscow. Furthermore, for partaking in every special operation, law enforcement officers receive an additional bonus pay.
