Statement of the Speaker of Parliament of the Chechen Republic D.B. Abdurakhmanov concerning accusations aimed at the President of the Chechen Republic in connection with the murder of human rights activist N. Estemirova

Grozny. The circumstances surrounding the murder of human rights activist Natalya Estemirova, together with the condemnation of this crime made by all sensible people, are being overshadowed by new and absurd statements made by certain pseudo-patriotic forces in Russia. Thus, the well-know to us all so called Russian human rights defenders Lyudmila Alekseeva, Lev Ponamarev, and Aleksei Simonov, appealed to Russia’s President to suspend Ramzan Kadyrov from his duty as Head of the Chechen Republic while the investigation of Estemirova’s murder is ongoing.
Just like the earlier statement made by the chairperson of Human Rights Center Memorial Oleg Orlov, who perceived the Chechen administration’s complicity in the high-profile murder, the latest appeal is lacking any logic or common sense. This theory itself, which casts a shadow on one of the greatest and nationwide recognized Russian regional leaders, is not just absolutely groundless but is also blasphemous, for all the past years, with sparing neither energy nor resources, Ramzan Kadyrov zealously restored the rights of the Chechen people, striving for peace and stability on the Chechen land.
The crown of his titanic efforts, , was the lifting of the  counter-terrorist regime on the Chechen territory, and here, as we ought to have expected from foes of Russia, all attempts were made to destabilize the situation in the republic, so as to create the notion of prematurity of such a politically significant decision for our republic.
Given this situation, only the most analytically inept individual can assume that the Republic’s administration would compromise itself, by resorting to admittedly self-harmful actions. Here, more than ever, we must ask ourselves “Who does this benefit?”
The answer is as evident as the motives behind the vain attempts of various destructive forces to destabilize the pacified situation in the Chechen Republic and once again jeopardize Russia’s southern frontier.
In context of the aforementioned and without resorting to baseless accusations of the orlovs, alekseyevas, simonovs, and ponamarevs, I would suggest to them that they find their place and role in socio-political processes concerning our country. That said, it’s hard not to point out that their actions not only demonstrate disaffection for their own country, in which they so freely  reside, but also wholeheartedly promote Western geopolitical interests, which is fully logical and appropriate given that human rights organization are financed by western grants.
A question arises: why did we not hear any outcries from our Moscow rights defenders when here in our republic just as basely and cruelly were being killed heads of administrations, religious leaders, members of law-enforcement and security services, and especially when the life of the first President of the Chechen Republic Akhmad-Hadji Kadyrov was cut short and that at the price of defenders of constitutional rights of citizens? How come while fully realizing the right of a person to labor, they don’t attempt to promote the creation of jobs in a republic where there’s a catastrophic unemployment rate?
And finally, on what legal or moral grounds are these Moscow rights defenders raising the question of suspension or any other action with regard to Ramzan Kadyrov? Their voting rights, as residents of the city of Moscow and the Moscow Region, have no relation to electoral processes in the Chechen Republic. R.A. Kadyrov was promoted to the post of President by Chechen public organizations and regional branches of Russian Federation’s political parties: The Public Chamber of the Chechen Republic, Assembly of the People of the Chechen Republic, as well as the Chechen Regional Branch of “United Russia.”
The Parliament of the Chechen Republic voted for Ramzan Kadyrov as President of the Chechen Republic, expressing the will of the Chechen people, following the submission of his candidacy by the President of the Russian Federation.
And you, Ponomarevs, Orlovs, Alekseyevas, and others, who are you in these actions? Nobody.
Therefore please express your electoral opinions in your electoral district, where you are registered.
And we, in our region- in our electoral district, and within our political views, will handle things on our own. Furthermore, Chechnya—is not some ordinary Russian region, or province, but a national government structure, a polity within the Russian Federation, possessing its own self-sufficiency within many parameters.
Moreover, Ramzan Kadyrov—is not just the president of the republic, but a true national leader of the Chechen people, defending its lawful interests and rights, and any disrespectful action aimed at him is disdain aimed at the people, the people who have lost many thousands of its sons and daughters in the struggle against religious extremism and international terrorism, and has in the end preserved the integrity of the Russian state.
I suspect  that in their political trickery, the Moscow defenders are far from being in touch with this nation and its aspirations—that of a peaceful lifestyle. They simply refuse to acknowledge that not one single Chechen today is interested in actions that would tarnish the reviving good image of the Chechen people in Russia and in the world, or that the Chechen government, which every day utilizes every means possible to achieve stability and prosperity in this long-suffered land, would especially not want to undermine the fruits of its relentless labor.
There is no surprise that the version claimed by the Moscow defenders implicating Ramzan Kadyrov in Estemirova’s murder, was also dismissed by the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev as primitive and inappropriate. Even a close relative of the victim, her uncle Baudi Ozdamirov categorically rejected any such speculation, stating that such statements are in fact without any foundation and are absolutely groundless.
I think that some “advocates of justice,” sitting in their Moscow offices and gradually losing their sense of moderation, are beginning to expose their true goals and intentions, which are not in the least aimed at strengthening the position of the Russian state on the international arena. Bitterness and dislike of our nation, which are so shining through their loud claims and statements, reveal their true attitude toward our country, forcing us to issue a counter-appeal to the President of the Russian Federaton, in which we intend to ask Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev to form a special commission to investigate the shadow activities of the aforementioned rights defenders and the organizations under their leadership, their true sources of income, real intentions, etc.
It’s finally time for everyone to reveal their true faces and to establish who they really are: friends or foes of Russia. It’s equally as important to raise the legal responsibility of citizens, who make groundless accusations and mar the honor and dignity of officials by passing the necessary federal law.

Human right defenders, who by trade often possess a legal background and are perfectly familiar with the presumption of innocence, are plainly exploiting the impunity and imperfections present in our judicial system. However this must be brought to an end, because we are not just talking about someone’s personal responsibility, but one way or another, the security of our nation.
