Five suspects have been detained in the killing of Dagestani Interior Minister Adilgerei Magomedtagirov in June, Interfax reported Wednesday.

The suspects have admitted to their involvement in the killing, Investigative committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Interfax, without providing details.

Magomedtagirov was shot dead in Makhachkala on June 5 together with another senior police official.
